The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and State House Anti-Corruption Unit have launched investigations into the management of a Shs1.5 billion music industry support fund.
The money, which was intended to boost music promotion and industry growth, is reported to have been mismanaged by some members of the Uganda Music Promoters SACCO.
Officials have been summoned to explain how the funds were distributed and spent, as concerns grow over accountability in Uganda’s creative sector.
